PRELIMINARY DOWSING
CHECKS Every time that you prepare to dowse, I would suggest
that you undertake the following preliminary checks that
boil down to three little questions.
1. Can I dowse (about whatever topic
currently interests you)?
In other words, “do I have the skill level
to dowse about this subject?
2. May I dowse about this subject?
This means “Do I have permission to ask
about this topic?” For instance, we do not have permission
to ask questions about other people’s personal or private
lives.
Given that dowsing allows us to access
all kinds of information that is normally hidden from us,
we have to be ethically very clear about how we use it.
While this has particular implications for professional
geomancers and dowsers who adhere to strict Codes of Ethics,
it is important for all who chose to “have a go” to understand
that dowsing is an ability that can provide considerable
benefit but it also needs to be handled responsibly. If
in doubt, you could ask yourself, “Is this something that
X would like me to know about him or her?”, or even “Would
I be happy if Y accessed this type of information about
me?” If you are even slightly unsure, please refrain from
compromising yourself, and try dowsing about a different,
neutral topic.
3. Am I ready to dowse?
This means “Am I in the right frame of
mind to ask these questions at this moment in time, and
do I have enough protection to ask these questions?”
“At this moment” is probably the key phrase
here; if you get a “NO” response to dowse, you might well
be fine in ten minutes’ time, but not right now. It is important
to check that you are clear, grounded and have connected
with your protection, especially if you are thinking of
dowsing anything in the earth energies or spirit world.
Please follow this link if you don’t understand what this
means and have never done this before.
